Ok, maybe I just thought you meant something else then. Because now it sounds like we agree. It sounded like you were arguing for isolation, but your last post made it clear that you aren't.
So now I think you mean squat and deadlift isn't enough for anything outside bodybuilding, powerlifting or other limit strength and hypertrophy training. I agree, there is much greater variety of training for sports.
Actually I think most bodybuilders are stuck in the late 60's to early 70's. That's when all that Weider crap came out, and many of them have been doing it ever since. There is a growing number of us that know better though. The funny thing is, most of that better stuff is what was done in pre-Weider bodybuilding. We just have more science to back it up now. But there has been plenty of new stuff too.
