I'm really posting it because I think the thoracic spine needs as much emphasis as possible. I've pretty much developed the opinion now that with lower back pain, shoulder pain, or neck pain, you simply won't resolve anything if the thoracic spine isn't in check. I don't care what you do to your rotator cuff (i.e. external rotations), your lower traps, your 'core', or what therapy you get. If you don't address the thoracic spine, you won't resolve it. At the very best, you'll get temporary relief.
I'm not saying it's the answer to every problem you can have with these joints, but it's so unbelievably common to have the problems described in that article that it probably is the answer (or a big part of it) to most.
