Weight gain

I'm a hardgainer trying to put on some mass which is more important using the basic lifts like dips,pull-ups, and squats.Or is consuming a lot of calories more important.And I'm not talking about all clean food either.

Both are important, think of it as yin and yang. The nutrition is yin and the lifting is yang.
