What would you reccomend for a fat guy kid like me?

Post by Dan the Comp Guy » Sun Jan 31, 2010 6:00 pm

I'm a Junior at High School, and 200lb :frown: And not the tallest guy ever.

This is what's really holding me back in life, and I realized that time is running out.

I also would like to know of more sites that can help, and possible programs. :red:

I really appreciate any responses to this thread, I always wonder why is it so difficult to seek weight loss... :neu:

I'm not sure your problem is overweight or undertall. I can't help with the latter. The first thing to do is to get your diet in order and start moving the right way. There is a lot of good stuff in these forum pages. Read the stickies in the exercise and diet sections. The bottom line is to start eating real food based on animals and vegetables. This will naturally be lower in carbs and higher in protein and healthy fats. Exercise with a combination of brief intense workouts along with long duration relaxing workouts.

The stickies will link to a number of sites that you can get more information. These are the most helpful.

Maybe you could tell us a little more about yourself, like exactly how tall, what do you presently eat, what kind of exercise program do you follow?

Maybe you could learn more about fat loss by reading books or researching. After learning put into action for success.

Hey, Dan the Comp Guy--are you still out there? I'm wondering if you have any reaction to the replies you've gotten. How are you doing with this?

Hang in there, Dan. It just takes a little effort. We need to know a little more about you. However the basics can be summed up like this. Cut out the sugar. Lift weights.

Anywho would you recommend some sort of gym or program? I sorta need some sort of "authority" to do it.

Yeah, we're trying to, but you haven't answered one of our comments. Are you reading them? You still haven't told us anything about yourself.

Perhaps a fitness assessment would be a good start. That way you have some quantitative numbers and a baseline to track your progress. One that tests muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, flexibility, and your cardiovascular aerobic fitness level.Your vitals can be checked also- resting heart rate, blood pressure, weight, height, etc. See if a local community college can provide that for you.
