I think I was compromising the back arch a bit at the end to get the bar down. Which is better from hang or touching floor brielfy?

Whichever one doesn't compromise your back position, I'd say.

That was my exact thought.

It's interesting. I'm very new to it and just feeling my way out. But you can change the exercise by knee bend, straightness of the back, even just how much you choose to "force" the hamstrings. On my right one, it feels good...but also kind of a bit sore like I was basically using the weight to force it into a stretch. Gives me some motivation to get more flexible!

Starts from the bottom of the lift - wouldn't really have to be the "floor"

My overthinking meter just broke.
I say make like Nike and "just do it" already.

I know this is getting into it, but I'm totally intrigued with the subtleties and differences of the motions on this lift.

I did them. Have a stiffie for stiffies. Love them. Hope I tolerate them.

I find them much tougher than conventional deads. Mostly due to grip issues, though.

I kinda get a nice hammie aggravation and back as well. Gives me a reason to work flexibility.
No grip issue, but I am pretty light right now, though. Are straps for pu...wimps, when I get limited?

I think Matt Z uses straps from what I saw last time I read his journal. Ask him if he is a pu...wimp.
I personally haven't used them yet, but I am considering using them when I do RDLs. I'll probably just use them for the last set, so my grip still gets worked for the first few.
Chalk is for real men, but it's not allowed in my gym.

the way you were pushing me to ask Matt that, makes it sound like he is a big dude who will squash me.

Read his journal. I like the way he structures his workouts.

Yeah. They are some of the cleanest, simplest workouts you'll see. And unless the numbers are total fabrication (

) he is big enough to squish almost all of us. At once.
