deadlifting question

i understand what is meant by not bend your back but what is meant by not flatten it .

the correct position is witthe chest up butt back and spine arched towards the floor ?

how about once doing lower weight and clearing your knee's , would you slide it on them ? i know if you do 45 pound plates on each side the knees are already cleared by the heigh of the plate ?
