## How does 2 by 10 equate to 4 by 5

### How does 2 by 10 equate to 4 by 5

IOW if I am doing 100# of an exercise at 2 by 10, would I lower the weight or raise it for 4 by 5? Assume, I am at failure on the last rep of the 2 by 10 and want to be at failure on the last rep of the 4 by 5.

Using your 100# example for 2x10, try 120# for 4x5 and see how you handle it. Also, take longer breaks between sets. Depending on your fast twitch/slow twitch muscle composition, you might be able to handle 10-30% more weight for 4x5 than 2x10.

How about circuiting with opposing muscle groups vice resting. How much if any, do you think that affects weight lifted.

IOW 10 weighted dips
10 rows
10 weighted dips
10 rows
(no rests)

Versus
10 weighted dip
rest
10 weighted dips
rest
10 rows
rest
10 rows.

Why not try both methods and come up with your own solution?

Endless analysis is a poor substitute for actually rolling up your sleeves and doing the work. It has appeal to people who like to procrastinate. Experience is the best teacher.
