5 Components of Successful Workouts (Ferruggia)

I just saw this on Jason Ferruggia's site. Turns out it is a promotion for his latest book, but I found that I agreed with his 5 points. They are:

1) The importance of properly periodized strength work in
your programs.

2) Why submaximal training delivers maximal gains at a much
faster rate then always going too heavy or too close to

3) The mistakes most people make with single leg training
and why you might be more doing more damage than good if
you're falling victim to this trap. (Hint: if you're
stretching your quads from the knee instead of the hip
you're asking for problems)

4) Why deloading is critically important to your long term
progress and ability to remain injury free. This has to be
done correctly if you plan on training for many years into
the future.

5) The proper balance between pulling and pushing exercises
for strong, healthy shoulders.

I'd just say that point 3 seems like a detail, not an overriding principle. I'm not sure what he's saying about that. I'll read his site further.

thanks.....How much time does everyone here take to researching and reading all this stuff? Man if it werent for you guys I wouldn't know who half these people are I RARELY have time lol.

my life is so simple, really, and I still don't have 1/2 the time to do what I want, including reading/researching more.
Could not imagine if I had children or other significant activities to do
So yep, I too am thankful for those that do and bring the good stuff here

yeah I'm with you on that one John. This site, t-nation and marks daily apple are the only resources I ever use really
