That's what I'm working on, getting all of my fibers to fire so I can be more forceful at the same weight. My best 100m time is a 10.39 and if I can get it down to a 10.18, I can quality for the trials this year. Since the summer, I've put on 30 ilbs to my back squat and I've actually reduced my body fat at the same time. I low bar/narrow stance squat 405 right now @ 175 ilbs and I feel I could increase it a little bit more. They say the deadlift is more efficint for strength gains due to less time under tension so I'm looking into that route.

Maybe that just me. I try and hit my posterior chain with twice as much volume as I do quad stuff. Single leg stuff couldn't hurt but I have to admit I don't like it very much.

I do deadlifts on mondays, along with more back work(rows, pullups) and biceps. But no, depending on rest between sets, my workouts take about an hour for the most part.

Does anyone else think that deadlifts and squats aren't enough? I sometimes do the leg press after squats on fridays, to target the quads more(vs glutes in squats). How about power cleans? My wrist is better and I may be able to start doing those properly now.

I'm sorry if I'm hijacking the thread; if you wish, I'll create a new one for my question, but if someone could give me a short answer I'd really appreciate it.

Blazing, I just thought to ask why you do more than one upper-body exercise? If you are really trying to minimize training time, and maximize efficiency, who not just one lift for upper? You are training for sprinting--wouldn't that mean you should spend most of your training time on lower body?

If I were you, and I absolutely had to choose between squat and DL, I'd go with DL. I certainly think it would be fine to do just one per workout. Maybe DL one workout out of 3, and squat the other 2?
