No, no banning. Leave Tyciol alone.

Maybe a handful of major troublemakers have been banned in the entire history of this forum in it's PHPBB form (version 2 and 3 included). Being picayune, punctilious, pedantic, or just a pain in the ass, is not a reason to ban someone. Honestly I really disapprove of having a discussion right in front of someone about banning them, and/or how much of a pain in the ass they are. That's pretty cold. Giving someone crap for posting something silly is one thing, but this goes too far.

Point 2: Oscar is the voice of reason here?

Yes, Stu is too, but then that's to be expected.

You know, people sometimes say "my two cents" when relaying their opinion, and this currency is apparently worth over double the amount.

So I say we should take it back. Much like 'trivial' (listed as a synonym). Trivial Pursuit is awesome, why is it a pejorative?
commodiusvicus wrote:but i also would've accepted "punctilious" or "pedantic"
Also I think 'pedant' meant 'teacher' or something. 'Sophist' meant someone knowledgeable. So much language founded on contrasted sarcasm.

Punctilious is a new word to me, but seems based on this which could arguably be a good trait, at least until some gets ahold of it and equate it to be 'nitpicky' or whatever. Which is another good example, since the removal of nits is a valid and healthy thing.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was taught it's imprudent to argue with a necromancer.

He only has the power of thread necromancy though. It would appear he's something of an etymology pedant too.
