Taking the plunge

After being a die hard "raw" guy, I'm thinking about taking the plunge and buying a bench shirt and squat suit. I'm interested in those who have geared up have to say. Specifically (and remember I'd be a novice geared lifter):
What brand do you recommend and why?
Single ply or double ply?
Denim?

My general philosophy on buying struff is to not go cheap. Buy good equipment the first time so you can give a good effort at trying things. E.g. I didn't go buy an Academy mountain bike, I bought a Gary Fischer. I don't want something that is going to frustrate me nor do I want something that is not going to give me much benefit and so I am frustrated with the results.

Hey and has anyone heard from nygmen? He hasn't posted in a while.

I think g-man gets email notifications for entries in his journal discussion. I'll give him a bump there.

Ah thanks guys.

I'll be back more often soon. I'm just trying to get back to speed with Tax season done and falling into a routine with a 5 month old.

Welome to the club. I'm approaching my busy season and the wife and I have a 7 month old. If I don't make time to life, I go crazy.
