I understand refined sugar increases fat on the body.

So, how can I replace refined sugar?
You don't replace sugar, you reduce it and start appreciating the taste of unsweetened real food, like dark chocolate and black coffee. I found that it helps to go on an elimination diet first to break the craving cycle. After a few weeks you stop craving it and you can break the addiction.
Nevage wrote:Stevia can be a good replacement if you have to, but I agree with Stu about eliminating it. You will find it doesn't even appeal to you after a while. If you do get Stevia, make sure it isn't bulked out with Maltodextrin or anything. I have some pure Stevia drops at home, I forgot the brand (don't use it as I don't have a sweet tooth but partner does!).
thanks

What about including fruits on the diet? Is it better to avoid them because of the sugar they have?

No, the little amount of sugar in fruit is outweighed by the good stuff. In all likelihood, this is the least of most people's problems.
