Question: New Exercise (Dumbell Raise)

I have noticed some similarities in the movements of DB Raise and the
Upright Row.

Since I feel impegments when doing upright rows, will the DB Raise be a safer choice?

Is the DB Raise an effective Lateral Deltoid builder?

It looks like a good one to me. I haven't tried them though.

Yes, the raise is fine, and you can also do a lateral raise where you keep your arms straight.

You should be able to find a comfortable grip for upright rows; try using a rope, sturrups, or an inside out grip on the parallel-grip row thingie (not sure what it's called), which is what I use.
