Any good exercises to sort my hollow back?

Post by Neurosis » Sat Dec 08, 2012 3:17 pm

I've found dumbbell rear lateral raises good for my round shoulders. Are they any miraculous exercises to treat a hollow back? :study:

Deadlifts
Pull-throughs
Swings
Glute bridges
Hip thrusts
Planks
Pallof Press
Stretch your quads
Don't stretch your hamstrings
Practice good posture all day long

Doc's list, but I'd just list the top few:

Deadlift
Squat
Lots of rows. Very important. Protracted shoulders will get extremely uncomfortable, you'll begin to pull the shoulders back instinctively and throughout the day. When you find yourself pulling your shoulders back while sitting on the can you'll know its really working.

Squat is important because, to do correctly, you've got to fire the glutes, and the back and hips work together for good posture.

Ken, I'm understanding that he already has corrected his shoulder issues, and now he's working on a lordotic lumbar spine.

No, I suppose really the rounded shoulders are still a work in progress. Thanks for the ideas, guys.

I've noted most problems can be traced to where your limbs attach: hips and shoulders. Take care of both and things work out.
