good summary.

mehdi is also telling the history about all the 5x5 programs in his free pdfs and on his page. he also recommends changing to madcows 5x5, if you begin stalling with his 5x5 stronglifts. i think he also doesn't claim he has training experience. he is just a smart guy who is presenting a very good workout program in a good way over the internet. and that's why he has my respect.

that was no offense to you or mehdi!

i watched many of his videos and read his program. you should really stick to his program, if you have time to work out 3 times a week. where is the problem with changing the stuff between exercises? i think you could easily do the workouts of the 5x5 stronglifts program in 30-35 minutes!

None taken about the accent thing, But seriously in an ideal gym with a powerrack and space it would only take 30 to 35 minutes, it took me close to an hour and a half! Crazy right! I tried to upload an attachment that has pics of my workout room but the file was too big. I'll figure something out though, no worries. I don't want to change the exercises, but for the sake of time I have to.

Nit picking: he claims to be the highest paid trainer in the word in terms of hourly rate.

...and yes, one thing I always appreciate about Mehdi is he gives full credit to all of his sources. He doesn't constantly re-iterate it because that would get distracting, but whenever he discusses origins of SL he details who he learned what from.

leanmuscle13 wrote:Well you guys are either going to laugh or try to shoot me. I'm going to go back on what I said and I'm going to add to and rearrange the workout program. Why? Well one I work out in my home gym which has limited space. In order to do the workouts in the order that is recommended I have to do a lot of moving around of my equipment...I found out today that this is not time efficient. I have to arrange my workouts so that they flow together without doing a whole lot of rearranging the room. So with that said, I'm going to do 5 sets of 5 repetitions of the exercises that I will be doing, but it will not be the Stronglifts 5x5 program. And yes Mehdi does have a funny accent! He's from Belgium, but to him I would probably have a funny accent as well.
The most important thing for a beginner to do is begin. Start lifting. If re-arranging the program gets you over a hump to get started and keep going, then do it.

If your re-arrangment lets you move weights 3 days/week and increase the weight, then have at it!

Every single lifter changes their program. You will too. As soon as whatever you are doing now does not allow you to progress any more, you will change it. Nobody shoots anybody or laughs at anybody, we make progress and then we adjust when progress stops.

Just let us know how it works out!

Quick question how do you add a quote from someone else's post? I know this is off of the subject but I can't figure it out. And yes I will keep you guys posted on my progress.

Just click on the "quote" button (located on lower right hand side) of the comment that you wish to quote verbatim.

You can also:

1- cut and paste comments into the editor

2 - highlight the pasted text by moving your cursor over it

3 - click on the "Quote" button (fourth from left under the subject line).

Doing it this way won't attribute a name to the quote, however

I prefer typing in "
body of post
", but without the space between "quote" and "="

No problem man. I'm going to start an account with one of those online picture sites and then post the links. Now my gym is not state of the art nor super expensive, but it does the trick. Pics coming soon.
