Yes, good stuff. Bill Starr popularized it back in the 70's when he was managing editor of Strength and Health, and in his book "The Strong Shall Survive-Strength Training for Football". You can't go too wrong doing something like that for a while.

You have to try it and see. I personaly didn't get anything out of it. However, I have known people who got the best gains of their life doing that.

I've had the opposite experience of Ironman as I've benefitted much from doing the 5x5 program. But, as always, your mileage may vary. Try it, see if it works. If it doesn't at least you know not to do it again.
