Read much about some Russian Programs.
Some Famous from Pavel Tsatsouline only have the Deadlift and Overhead Press (or his preferred Bent Press) in it.
A better Overhead Press increases the Bench Press, cause the shoulders and the triceps are the limitating factors and not the Chest in my opinion.
Does a better Deadlift automatically lead to a better Squat?

Re: Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only
The common wisdom is that squat helps deadlift but deadlift does not help squat.
Overhead pressing may help bench press, but in your topic title it says "Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only", if OHP is a means to develop a better bench, then why would you only be doing those 2 lifts and not doing the bench press?

Re: Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only
I was just asking some theoretical questions.
A benefit of only doing these two exercises is that you only need a barbell and plates. you don't need a bench and you don't need a rack, if you clean the barbell from the floor before you do overhead presses.

Yes, and so much more. You could train olympic lifts, clean variations, front squats, rows, hack squats, overhead squats, curls etc. All with just a barbell.
Re: Training Deadlift and Overhead Press only
That's true and i know it, but it doesn't answer my question about the deadlift and the squat.

If all you have is a barberll, it still doesn't limit you to those two exercise. Pavel like two exercise programs. It keeps it simple and sometimes simple is effective. I would adf floor presses to the list phlegmatic gave.
If your squat is limited by your posterior chain, then deadlifts will help. If its limited by your quads, it won't.
