How can I build up my pecs, without doing bench press?
When I bench press I get an achy back which is super annoying.
I'm not too keen on doing loads of press-ups either

Could be your technique... a video would probably help or you could check your technique with a coach at your gym?
Where does your back ache? (lower back?) Do you have an idea why? (too big arch?) Did you get it checked by a professional?
There are several excercises for the chest... just look at the "Excercise & Muscle Directory" on the mainpage ("weight training"). You could try dumbbells instead of barbells or try some dips or flies...
But my advice would be to get your back and your technique checked, before searching for an alternative...

I believe in the machine fly where you have your elbows against a pad and let the pec stretch and doing higher reps after lets say dbell press. chest is my strongest bodypart and while im not a fan of machines i have to say that this particular machine is really phenomenal for muscle building. (Of course everyone responds differently)

Parallel Bar Dips and Dumbbell Bench Presses are both good options if Barbell Bench Presses are problematic. However, if your back continues to give you trouble (on these or other exercises), you should get it checked out.
