opinions on a bench

I am ready to invest in a new bench and ditch the rickety setup I am currently using. I have narrowed it down to two and would like opinions. Both are flat incline decline, and both have the option of a leg attachment (I will eventually do a routine that has a separate leg day.....leg extensions and curls). I'm just not sure that #2 is worth the extra $100+. It is a commercial rated bench though. #1 also sits a full 3" higher than #2....I think the lower bench would be better....?

Are those girls included? No extra charge? Then go with #1. Girls just as cute, and less money. :lol:

The commercial one should be more robust as it would be used more often. It's also longer and probably heavier.

Personally, I would go with the cheaper one.

I'd go with the cheaper one unless you want to hook up a lat attachment. Then you need the expensive one because the other isn't compatible.

No need for a lat attachment....already have a lat machine.

And thanks for the input guys....I'll be placing the order this week for the cheaper model.

I realize this is late, but I have the bodysolid ench you have shown in #1. It is sturdy and safe. Also, the paint they used on it is pretty good for the weather as well/ When Mine's outside, I just hve to wipe it down after a rain, and hit it with a bit of WD40, and it stays fine, no paint flaking, etc.I also have their cheaper power cage, and it's great too. IMHO, no need for the leg attachment on the bench. I have the Hi-Lo pulley addition for the cage, and the low pulley row in combo with the bench can be used for leg curls in particular, and somewhat for extensions as well.

Great Tim...thanks for the reply! Just what I needed to hear.

I have a rack already, and a lat in the near future, spending under $100 for the leg attachment seems reasonable. Or I may not buy it....if I can get my squats to progress a little

Honestly, I have a bench that used to have a leg attachment. It broke pretty quickly...and left me with nothing but a flange sticking out of the end of the bench.

Before that, the leg attachment was useful for leg curls and leg extensions* but it also got in the way when I bench pressed, did one-arm rows, and otherwise used the bench as a bench. I had a similar problem with a bench in my gym in Japan, which had a leg attachment on it and it prevented me from using it for dragon flags.

So unless you're really wedded to the idea of doing leg extensions and leg curls...I don't think a leg attachment is really that cost effective and I found it got in my way.

Not sure if that's useful or not, but that was my experience.

This attachment is removable......just like the one I have now. Just drop it in when you use it....take it out when you're finished. Only reason I even bring up ext/curls is that my squats are very low in weight, and if/when I start a 3 day split, it will be nice to have that option of ext/curls.
