Slant board ab work??

I recently purchased a free standing slant board for ab work. I have not had much experience with this type of equipment and it did not come with excerise instructions at all.
My concern is with range of motion. Should I be starting my situp on this rig with my back flat to the board. My lower back doesn't seem to want to cooperate with that postion. I have no problem starting from a higher position but it seems to me that starting with my back flat to the slant board offers the full range of motion I had in mind when I purchased it. The brand name is IMPEX.
Any advice on how to get good value out this type of equipment would be appreciated.
Thanks.

This type of board?

Keeping your knees bent, you should start with your back straight and on the board. Lower the board to the lowest position. If it's too hard in this position raise the head of the board by setting it on something solid, like a chair. As you get stronger, gradually lower the head of the board until it's on the floor, then finally start raising the board at the feet end.

"Movement can be made easier by lowering incline, performing movement on horizontal surface, or placing arms further down away from head."

Thanks for the info. The board you posted is very similar to what I have but mine doesn't have an adjustability feature. It is strong enough to stand raiseing the bottom to adjust the angle though.
Thanks again.

I am also considering buying one! However I have this space issue: models I like are pretty big and I don't have where to put it. I heard I there are board that could be fastened to the wall. Which is the best option?
