Yea, that sucked. Apparently there is good money in that business. They paid a very sophisticated person to write a custom script to spam just this forum. This person apparently had lots of compromised systems under his control too.
I changed stuff around and banned some IP blocks so it won't work again. They can always pay a hacker though. Not much you can do about that.

Re: Home Gym
Thanks for cleaning it up! I banned all the usernames (I realized that I could copy and paste into a list, then paste it into the banning screen and do them all at once, so that wasn't too odious. I was deleting the contents of the posts, but for me that is only a one-at-a-time job. Do you have a way to do it all at once?Ironman wrote:lolephs wrote:btw: i need a good k-word. do you know where i can get it?

No, it's a one at a time thing. I have an easier way to delete posts with the other web tool, but I don't use that because I want to delete the users and block their IP ranges.
I had to limit the ranges I blocked though because most of these were clearly systems that had been hacked and used like a proxy.

Re: Home Gym
So, did it do any good for me to do all that banning and deleting?
Re: Home Gym
another option to save the floor would be to put two plates on the floor, where the barbell touches the floor. but this would be like cheating at deadlifts, cause of the shorter range of motion, or not? or do you think it wouldn't make a huge difference between on the floor and about 5cm higher?

Here's my set up..
Rogue R-3 Rack, chopped and re-welded to fit in my low-ceiling'ed garage.
Adjustable bench
~500lbs in used beat-up old plates; 8 45's, no 35 or 25, bunch of tens, fives,
set of x8 2" washer "microplates"
Standard plate A frame that I use for all my Olympic-bore plates
B&R Bar
Cheapo Beater Bar (for rack pulls, shrugs, anything I'll dump on pins)
A chalk bucket (aka Tupperware container) with some chalk
80 lb Everlast heavy bag, gloves, jump rope
16kg Kettlebell
