Is that really her? Are there other pics where you can see her face?

Yeah, that's really her. They were discussing it on the morning news shows and they had a front pic of her. I'm going to disagree with Ironmaiden here, and take the side most everybody that saw the pics say. OK, maybe she isn't in fitness model champion shape in the upper legs, but overall, she's shapely, well proportioned and in no means overweight (If you saw the front pics, she has a flat stomach, and very large well proportioned breasts). I also applaud her, when those pics came out, she went public, said yes it was her, normal is good, and with all the intense scrutiny placed on celebrities and weight, it's no wonder lots of young girls are taking the anorexics like Lohan, Richey, and the Olsen twins as role models and becoming anorexic themselves. She also said that in her mind, she looks good, and better yet, she feels good. Good on JLH.

Well its personal preference I guess. But I have issues with her saying shes a size 2, shes not a size 2.

I couldn't care less about what the heck ssize she claims she is, and I don't remember her ever making such a statement. For a celebrity, she's pretty down to earth and low key.

The statement about the size had nothing to do with anything you said, its something that I observed. I can agree w/ being down to earth and low key though.

I think she looks okay. Definitely not the best she's ever looked, but overall not bad.

I suppose we are accustomed to the majority of celebrities being in reasonable shape so when someone has a blowout, especially a woman, it's kind of shocking. I was shocked when I saw that pic but in the real world it's not that bad.

It bothers me more when an attractive actress deliberately loses 20 or 30 pounds for no reason. Kiera Knightly for example looked damn good in the first Pirates of the Carabbean movie, but by the premier of the third movie she looked like an extra from "Schindler's List".

Likewise, Jessica Simpson looks a lot better at 120 lbs than she did at 98 lbs in the Dukes of Hazard movie (although even then she didn't look emaciated and sickly like many young celebrities).

Matt, thats the point. Hollywood promotes this crap of being skinney, and the public, being the mindless sheep they are, especially young girls, use these skinney women as a role model, and try to emulate them. That's why I really applaud JLH coming out with the "so what? I'm normal" statement. A year or so back, they were slamming Trya Banks, because whe decided to quit all the dieting, and let herself get normal (and let me tell you,her "normal" is no less than fanastic) and told the media, if they didn't like it, too bad, they could kiss her fat butt.

I like to think there's a nice happy medium ... caring about ones health and appearance and making the effort to exercise and eat well, while NOT beating oneself up over every little imperfection. Unfortunately, most people seem to gravitate toward one extreme or the other.

Of course, this thread also reminds me of a funny quote I heard a while back, that was atributed to Robert DeNiro. He said that most women would rather be naked in front of a room full of men than a room full of other women, because women are critical, while men are usually just grateful.
