I didn't want to bump my GVT thread to just ramble like a giddy kid so *random thread to the rescue*

Just got back from my 4th week leg session and I've been adding 5k a session, I knew this week would be the one that beat the $h1t out of me (having barely done last week) - but I experienced the same amazing drug like feeling that I did when I got into a really good OHP groove (felt form get better, then linear gains for 5-6 weeks) managed the full 100 and satisfied with form, I wont go in with a negative head next week but I can't possibly do 10x10 +5k next week.

Sometimes week to week you feel good from lifting, you know its helped balance mood - but from time to time I get these "F**K YEA THIS IS THE S**T" moments - and 10x10 squats with a new weight, forcing myself to get my ass down - great session.... had to support half my weight on the hand rail back up the stairs but...

Robertscott seemed happy with GVT and I've gotta say I see why you/he support it - sure I've not gone through many programs, but going from Texas method (not too much fun after ages on Stronglifts5x5) to this - seing my legs get defined/grow, shoulders start to split up - the feeling of a truly empty tank on leg days... its good stuff

Recommend it to anyone finishing up starting strength or a novice program who feel its time to move onto intermediate. It's fun, different and gives your brain a change from "read 1000 pages to add 1% to compounds" mentality (if you have that, maybe it's just my geeky/over-analytical side  )

I will say though unless you have form down, this is not for novices, I never like to give myself a badge but; the pure volume requires your core to be able to squat effectivley IMO and if not, your going to end up hurting your back, I felt a few slightly off squats and they started to build up tension which reminded me its for nothing unless you get it right.

You and I, we aint hangin' out. I don't even like to shake hands. Bumps are barely tolerable.
But... but... but... I don't know what to say. I guess that cake I baked for you will have to go in the bin.

<sigh> looks like it's microwave dinners for one again Robert.

you realise you should only be able to get ten for like the first 5 sets? Your reps should look something like this

10
10
10
10
10
8
7
6
8
7

you sometimes find you get stronger again after weakening a bit because of short term neural adaptation. It's weird but it happens. If you are getting 10 reps on all sets the weight is far too light. Beef it up!

Oh, no... They did kill me though - You could have said I needed to beef up my first three weeks but yesterday was insane, I sat down for a few seconds after it and thought, fook it, im here on my own, and just lay down hyperventilating for 3-4 minutes :)

This will probably be a natural result next week anyway when I add another 5k.

Another thing I did was on leg/ham curls I was doing 55k for 5 sets then when I started to fall apart I went to 50k - are you saying I should have stayed with 55 and just done 5-7 reps?

Anyone ever had a "Reiki" session?

I'm getting one by a colleague who recently got certified in it. She thinks I will be a "challenge" so it's to test herself.

I'm going to reserve judgement right now as I don't know anything about it. At first glance it looks like a good way to get a great placebo affect.

Robert said that it was a surprise cake for you, made with twizzlers.
Actually, twizzlers with cake.

But now that you don't want it, it's mine!

I hate when people talk politics at work, they usually have no fricking clue what there talking about, quote what they think say are fact but are in fact pure bs that they bulled from their buttocks . I keep my views to my self as is my right, and I really could care less what they think. I just find it really annoying.

I was able to rack pull last night. Not with any heavy weights or anything, in fact it was basically 50% of my best 1RM DL, but today my hamstrings doesn't hate me (in a bad way). This is great progress. Starting to feel like i'm on the mend. That's 3 months now since I popped it! Still need to get ROM back on that side though. The rack pulls were at knee cap height and still felt an uncomfortable stretch on it. However i'm going to work on progressively loading up this ROM and progressively increasing ROM as I get it back.

Kind of backwards and an example of not taking my own advice but going to my physio about it in the next couple of weeks, too. I need to take days off work to make this happen though so don't know exactly when yet. I know he'll disagree with me training on 2 legs with such big ROM discrepancies, though.
