lol, actually I don't. I think he's a scapegoat. I think he was probably taking all the same stuff that everyone else was.

I'm with you on that one. Loads of other competitors have said that Armstrong helped them pass their drug tests

Yeh, and not many (if any?) have came out with the old, "steroids are cheating, cheatings is wrong,.... i would never cheat, i am your new role model", speech. No one wants to make the Carl Lewis mistake and come out and say this only to be caught a couple of years later themselves.

armstrong ruled so hard, i think the advantage of his doping system is not the reason for his titles, he was just the king of cycling. but unfortunately for him, the anti doping agencies like more to disposses the winner than the runner up. but let's see who gets caught next. i think armstrong will take many people with him going down.

btw many cyclists, who obviously cheated, did it like carl lewis, for example jan ullrich. he was caugt two times or so, but not in any year. he was the runner up at 3 armstrong titles. let's see if they declare him to the winner for these years.

still unsure, how big the edge with a good doping system could be, cause wiggins sucked at climbing mountains some years ago, froome came like a phoenix from the ashes and there were kind of one hit wonders like vinokourov and rasmussen.

I completely disagree with him being a scapegoat. Those who finished below him in the ToF had been caught and banned years ago, yet LF escaped punishment. In fact it seems as if the authorities involved in cycling have gone out of their way over the years to coverup his drug use. If he had been a scapegoat he would have been sacrificed to coverup up all the other riders, when in fact the exact opposite has happened. He's one of the last to have been caught.

My comment wasn't aimed as his drug use, it was aimed at his actions in discrediting those who over the years have dared to state the truth, ie he used performing enhancing drugs. He deliberately set out to ruin the careers and reputations of those who tried to expose him for what he was. That is what I find disgusting. If you're going to cheat, be a man about it, but he chose to systematically bully and intimidate those who dared to try and reveal the truth. A truly repugnant individual in my eyes.

Nice article/rant.

I don't think badly of Lance Armstrong, even though I'd like the sport more without the performance enhancing drugs (makes it more human).
I do however think badly of the USADA/WADA/whatever.
They haven't caught him cheating then. But found out now, after retesting, 10+ years after he had won 7 Tours de France.
And not even in every year he had won and still took all of his wins.
Smells like spite to me.

Pretty much everyone. Except the faction who think he should be forgiven and welcomed back into sport.

Practice competition at the gym today. Unadvertised by design to keep it small and among friends.

Am now realizing my trainer's "peaking" program was incredibly effective, as I face the prospect of totalling 50# less than I did at Novembe's peak! :frown:

Oscar, I really do believe it works. I've done it a bit but not seriously, but it adds up to 100 more reps in a week, and it is of course easy to keep good form at low weights, so when you go heavy and feel the form slip you notice it instantly, and you can figure out what people are saying when they tell you what went wrong.
