Yesterday at the gym one of the trainers had a female client doing Sled Leg Presses and Barbell Incline Presses at the same time, so that the sled and the barbell were both in motion at the same time (out of sync). She was using a 30 lb barbell with 90 lbs on the sled (two 45s).

It's sad, but we have been neglecting Canadian Thanksgiving in recent years. It doesn't mean that we're less thankful for things Canadian, though. Actually, being from two different countries, and living in a third which celebrates Thanksgiving on yet another day, we could have 3 a year. Of course, it's hard to get good turkeys here.

We had a nice turkey this year. The grocery store got in some free ranges ones but sold them as utilities.

When did women start wearing regular lingerie as Halloween costumes?

Don't get too excited. They weren't good looking.

I'm bouncing around gyms.

The "powerlifter friendly" gym made me feel very unwelcome. Nasty passive-aggressive stuff.

No way I will find a gym with safety bar, trap bar, and a platform. Bummer. May have to do some of this stuff at home again.

Have found what may be my new favorite gym.

Today saw a woman pull 4 plates for a double. She had a back bigger than most men I know.

Funny thing about female body-builders, it's perfectly ok to walk up to a woman you've never met and compliment her on her body. However, I stuck to complimenting the deadlift.

Hey, merry Christmas to all my ExRx friends! We just spent 4 weeks in the Philippines, working in disaster relief, mostly on the island of Leyte. It was not what I thought it would be, but we feel we were able to do some good. It's really good to be back in our home in Papua New Guinea in time for Christmas. No lifting for about 5 weeks now. Plan to start up again tomorrow, and will post the workouts.

This year I set new PRs on 8 lifts and added 45 new species to my lifelist.

My gym got 13 new pieces of equipment recently ... all machines. To make room they got rid of a few worn out machines and a perfectly good flat bench (which got a lot of use). The worst part though is that we lost a lot of floor space, and consequently I had to give up Turkish Get-ups.
