Helena! Where have you been? On a "business trip" to some resort? How's the weather in Sweden?

"How about the 30 most influential bands of the past 5 years?" - Jungledoc

I think it's too soon to say. Some acts that are BIG right now will be footnotes in five or ten years, while others will be very influential, even though they don't get the respect they deserve now.

I'm fifty, which means that I stopped giving a crap about pop music, oh, around the death of John Bonham (and Lennon), 1980. Pretty much everything that followed the second generation of rock (Beatles, Stones) is just a footnote. Which is why kids still say to me, "What were the SIXTIES like?" Well, little shaver, let me tell ya . . . Nothing's wrong with these influential bands that no one's ever heard about, but, if they're so great, how come no one's ever heard of 'em? Maybe rock and roll did indeed die a generation ago, I dunno. I just listen to Bach and Mozart now anyway.

Sorry! Only saw this just now. Well I was on my honeymoon in the Carribbean for two weeks, then we went to see my husband's family in the US for two weeks... then I've pretty much not had time to blow my nose, let alone check the board :-/ Work was crazy busy when I got back, and then the whole Christmas craze set in.

Weather... well, it's frickin COLD and lots of SNOW! Argh! We're having -18 celsius right now, it's insanely cold. I feel bad for everyone who's travelling for Christmas because we have a storm that came in from the south today and is coming up north, and it's really bad. The trains, planes and highways are a MESS.

I'm just going to throw one out there...

Korn - They basically defined the nu-metal genre. Just started listening to them again and I'm wondering why I gave up on them.
