I have heard it is the most critically acclaimed show of all time, and if you check it on IMDB it has the highest rating of any show I can find on there. That said, I have never watched it myself!

I'm a big South Park fan. I have the entire collection, every season. I even have the 2 Christmas shorts they did before it.

The only good thing to ever come of Family Guy was the awesome episode of South Park that mocked how crappy Family Guy is.

South Park REALLY went downhill the season chef died. And no, that's not because Chef died (although his character was pretty funny), but the direction of the show changed. It's like the same thing with the simpsons, they should have stopped making shows after the 7th season.

Correction: The simpson was ok until about the turn of the century, which I guess would make it around 10 seasons?

I totally disagree. South Park 200/201 is one of the greatest made-for-TV hours of programming of all time.

The series TOTALLY changed. The original premise of the show started out a good mix of shock value/goofiness/satirical comedy, and then the middle seasons got even goofier, which was even better cause then it was just downright the funniest tv ever (the epitome being the episode "the red badge of gayness", in which Cartman pretends to be General Lee). After the middle seasons and from then on, the "goofy" humor has been replaced with way too much shock value/satiring of current events. I love satire comedy, and some shock value humor is good from time to time, but if that's all you got it gets boring rather quickly. And its ALL thanks to the Scott Tenorman episode, which was a funny episode, but it got really old really fast.
