music you like!
I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread like this before. Use this thread to link to whatever tunes you are currently obsessed with, tracks you've always loved, new stuff you've just heard etc...
First up is "Your Loft My Acid - Fearless Transhouse Mix" by Death In Vegas. I can't get enough of this tune just now. Starts slow, gets awesome.
an old favourite "She's Not Just Another Woman" by the 8th Day
another soulful number, love the vocal work in the chorus. "Beware of the Man with the Candy in his Hand" by The Dramatics
while I'm at it, this The Dramatics tune is too good to ignore. "Whatcha See is Whatcha Get". Love the guy's voice!
If you're a techno fan, you'll love this. "Superheroes" by The Toxic Avenger
that'll do for now, although I'm pretty bored at work so I may add more later

Re: music you like!
I do the same thing. I'll get a song stuck in my head and I'll have to listen to it 100 times to get it out.
Currently it is:
Hillbilly Highway - Steve Earl and the Dukes
Don't think nothing about it. I just got off a two week Kanye West Gold Digger kick.
Make it a rule - one post at a time.

I'm glad you like that 8th day tune, it's awesome! I wish they still made music like that

Re: music you like!
nothing like these threads to remind me how simple my tastes in music are. I've enjoyed music for 29 of the last 33 years. During a few down years, I know it was bad; I didn't even want to listen to music.
But my tastes while simple (I don't go out of my way to hunt the obscure), is diverse - if not under one big "Pop" tent. My USB randomly bounces from Adele, AC/DC, Neil Diamond, Cold Play, Jimmi Hendrix, Lorretta Lynn, Lynyrd Skynyrd, REO Speedwagon, Beyonce, Lea Michelle, George Jones, Donavon, Pearl Jam, Manfred Mann, Midnight Oil, Tammy Wynette, Lyle Lovett, Too Short.... about 300 artists
I've had stereos in 3 cars worth more than the cars. Now with a house and wife, I'm a bit more careful with my $$$.

RIP Jon Lord.
While most will talk about "Smoke on the Water" if you really want to hear Jon Lord go to about 3:45 on this link.

Nice song. I've been a fan of the Talking heads since their beginning.

good choice Stu, I think This Must Be The Place, Take Me To The River, Heaven, and And She Was are the Heads' best tracks.
You've got some good taste in music Stu, if you're a rum drinker me and you would get on like a house on fire in the real world.
...that reminds me, I really like Burning Down the House too.

I like that one too. My son wanted at TH t-shirt for Xmas one year. Did you know that you can't buy them? I had to buy a kit and copy an album cover. That was OK, he also got a Velvet Underground and a Led Zepplin T-shirt out of the deal.
And, yes I like rum. All Nova Scotians like rum.

Re: music you like!
that's weird, I guess a vintage one would be worth a fortune then. The Velvet Underground are a band I've just never gotten into. Never really given them a chance, although I quite like Lou Reed's solo stuff. Some of it anyway... Led Zep on the other hand were one of the defining bands of my youth, although my favourite band growing up were Soundgarden.
These days I'm much more into soul and techno than rock music. The rock music I do listen to is pretty much limited to anything from the 60s/70s. Jefferson Airplane, The Apple Pie Motherhood Band and Jethro Tull being prime examples.
