push ups/upper chest

push ups/upper chest

Hi. Are there any type of push/press ups that one can perform to enhance the size of the upper chest? Because of the lack of equipment I am some times forced to do press ups in order to build my chest muscle. And while I'm here, are there any other exercises one can do to build chest muscles that don't need equipment, ie weights.

You can do push-ups with your feet elevated, although achieving a high incline might be a problem

You can try out pushups between chairs...which increases the range of motion. Grab 3 chairs and place 2 of them across and facing each other. Your body will go in between them with one hand being placed on each chair. Take the 3rd chair and place it back to where you can put your feet up on it. If you dont understand what im saying its still the same pushup position you always do only your hands and feet are now on chairs. Make sure you go all the way down...

If you have anybody else around, have them place something on back that has some weight to it when it becomes too easy.

Pushups with feet elevated are good for upper chest. Also you can do dips between two sturdy peices of furniture for lower chest.

Let's not forget just locking your hands together in front of your chest and pushing against one another (alternately, pulling). That should be a good way to break up a 400 push-up per day routine (or whatever you embark on). Good luck without weights!
