Training a hypermobile client

Post by nrng.chetan » Sun Jan 22, 2017 1:50 am

So I wanted to start this thread because I find that this topic lacks necessary resources. I recently got contacted by a hypermobile client with a goal of getting stronger and I'd love to know as much as I can about things I should take into consideration while training her. Please share your knowledge guys. I'll keep posting my experience as well.

The best things for hypermobility seem to be

- mobility work
- dynamic strength trainging with good coaching on form
- making SURE you're getting good nutrition, with emphasis on protein for your ligaments.

Working with a number of gals who've said many of the same things you have, here's the program i've found to work very well for strength and ligament work.

Kettlebells (kb's) + a good nutrition approach + dynamic joint mobility work

Yeah, joint mobility would be the key for a hypermobile person, one of my daughter's friends suffers from that and that's what she exercises hte most.
