Changing training methods

Post by TheGhostofSolidSnake » Mon Aug 11, 2008 10:02 pm

Does it make a difference if I change the type of weight I normally use for training a particular muscle? For instance I sometimes get bored doing curls with dumbells everytime. Would it matter at all if I sometimes used a barbell or cable instead to do some curls?

No, and in fact, it can be a good thing to change periodically. With DBs you are able to use a neutral (hammer) grip, while the BB forces either a pronated or supinated grip. You can lift more total weight with BBs, but DBs force you to control the stability of the weight in all diminseions.
