Best substitute for standing OHP (low ceiling)

Hey guys,

i plan to buy some equipment. The problem is the ceilings of garages and basements are usually only 2.2 metres in Germany.

What would you do as a main exercise then?

- Seated OHP without back support (could be dangerous for the lower back)
- Seated OHP with back support

or maybe the Sots press?

and there is also the savickas press (invented by strongman savickas), this will work your core too!!

I would have to also agree. You want the back support when doing seated overhead press.

Why?

Why would someone need back support?

Back Support

Back support simply places more work on the muscle involved by taking the stabilizer muscles out of the equation.

You are able to "brace yourself" and drive into the back of the bench.

Standing Press

This exercise involves more stabilizer muscles.
