Hi everyone, I am working towards my undergraduate in exercise science at the University of Pittsburgh and I was wondering whether any of you know of some of the top schools in the nation(or where I can gather useful information about where to look for graduate school) to get your masters in ex. science and/or exercise physiology? Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chad

I'm hoping to get my Master's in exercise science or kinesiology at some point. Need to find a program that'll take an undergrad BA, though, I don't want to go back for 4 years of required math and science and English classes when I've got post-BA education already.
One I was looking at was University of Conneticut. I noticed William J. Kraemer, who has co-authored a book on periodization, teachers there. Plus CT isn't terribly far from my family in NJ.

I am partial to Mizzou since I'm in their Exercise Physiology program. Dr. Tom Thomas is the head of the department. We also have adjunct professors from Biomedical Sciences Dr.s Frank Booth, Ron Terjung, and Harold Laughlin who have done a great deal of exercise research and/or skeletal muscle research.
I know that Washington University had a great lab at one point and probably still does. Texas too. University of Chicago mention earlier is great.

Focus?
Hey,
It depends on what area of work you want to take your masters...
If you want to go into PT (Which someone said makes lots of $$... this is totally true if you look into most PT jobs!), or you can look into exercise specialists or physiologists...
Anyways, I would say look at the schools with direct application to a job or field of work. Otherwise, without focus your masters will get you about as far as your bachelors when it comes to exercise science.
thats just my opinion from what I have observed with graduating professionals.
