Lady on the Bus

Lady on the Bus

A lady about eight months pregnant got on a bus; she noticed the man opposite to her was smiling at her so she immediately moved to another seat.
This time the smile turned into a grin, so she moved again.
The man seemed more amused.
When on the fourth move, the man burst out laughing,
she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.
The case came up in court. The judge asked the man what he had to say for himself.
The man replied, "Well your Honor, it was like this:
When the lady got on the bus, I couldn't help but notice her condition.
She sat under a sign that said, "The Double Mint Twins are coming" and I grinned.
Then she moved and sat under a sign that said,
"Slogan's Liniment will reduce the swelling" and I had to smile.
Then she placed herself under a sign that said,
"William's Big Stick Did the Trick" and I could hardly contain myself. ...
BUT your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said,
"Goodyear Rubber could have prevented this Accident... " I just lost it."

Nah, I'm not training to be a cop, I do however wish to one day go back overseas and make some real money doing PSD (protective service detail) work. I was in the Airborne Infantry for 5 years, 82nd Airborne Division. Thats how I got/ stayed in good shape, but my joints and skeletal system is really outta whack due to rough landings and a few chute malfuctions. I am currently wanting to do a triathlon, but I've been slacking really bad on my training due to my current love affair with rock climbing...needless to say there isnt much skin left on my hands. Apparently calluses are bad and rip off with ease.

Been a while since I've been able to add a new PB, but I have two for today:

Squat- 315lbs (1RM)
Deadlift- 335lbs (1RM)

Set the bar pretty high for myself for the coming weeks, my short term goals are (maybe by end of summer, realistic?):

Squat- 365lbs
Deadlift- 405lbs

Hey rock climbing buddy. I personally love my calluses and swear to never pick at them again. If I just leave them alone, tougher sking grows under them, making the skin on my hands incredibly durable. Like I'll get papercuts that can't break the skin due to a callus. Great stuff!

Mine just rip off as of lately, but I like the taste of iron from the blood so I guess I still win. Btw- going rock climbing this morning... feels like another great weekend!

Hi Everybody

Just wanted to say hi. I saw how many Canadians were on here and decided to join the party. My name is Ken and I'm originally from the great city of Calgary, Alberta. I now , however, toil in Salt Lake City, Utah. Please don't hold that against me.

Of course I love hockey (even though my beloved Flames sucked in this years playoffs) and most all sports. I work in the TV news industry and get out to what pass as mountains here whenever possible.

Don't really see any reason to Merc82nd. Yep, it's a bit OT, but not in any real violation as per James' guidelines in the announcements.

I matched my PB in squat today 315, and attempted and failed 325. Details in my journal.

Barbell Push Press 185 lbs for 3 reps

I needed very little push from my legs to get the bar up. This was almost a Military Press. Anyway, I'm hoping to make 225 for 3 by the end of the summer.

Matt- after looking at your log i'd say its a good bet that you're actual 3RM is more than 185 right now. That previous set of 165 for 8 had to have taken some steam out of you before you went for that 185. To see where you're really at you should take one workout and just do progressive sets of 3, like 15 lb jumps between sets or whatever...im betting you'll be able to hit around 195 for 3.

I matched my previous PB in deadlift today of 335lbs. I didn't try to improve. Though I'm planning on trying 345 in two weeks (three more workouts).

I agree. I probably could have gotten at least 5 reps at 185 lbs or another 10 pounds for 3 reps, but I didn't want to go too heavy, since it's been a while since I've done standing military presses and years since I've done push presses.

In other words I wanted to stop a little shy of failure, since it's a new lift for me.
