Building mass without weights

Post by Danny » Sat Jun 10, 2006 2:59 am

Hello,
I was wondering: if someone can't join a gym or can't afford to buy new dumbbells plates all the time or have no room for a bench or other equipment; would a serious training with just bodyweight workout work as well and produce good results concerning muscles growth?

Are weights really vital for muscle hypertrophy or you can use just bodyweight?

It's possible, but you'll still need some sort of equipment.

You can always invest in a chin-up bar, which you can install in your doorway. It doesn't take up any space at all.

I have a chin-up bar installed in my dooway, I paid it 10$
The only problem is that when I lift on the bar I'm so close to hitting the wall with my face :\

How can I use it? What kind of exercises?

Thanks for your replies

Danny, bwt can work, but you will have to improvise. Use the chin up bar for chins/pullups. Do Handstand pushups, P bar dips, 1 leg squats, and go out in the yard and pickup large heavy objects. Could be rocks, barrels, sandbags, etc
