18yrs old, 135 lbs...

Post by illthrill » Sun Jul 23, 2006 5:05 pm

I weight 135 pounds and I have had a very fast metabolism ever since i was born.
I can bench (45+45+25) 115lbs
and i can curl 30 lbs (10 reps in one set)

is that good for my weight?

and also, my goal is to reach 160-170 lbs
how long would that take, and what can i do to achieve this goal (despite my fast metabolism)?

115 lbs isn't bad for someone your size. That's pretty close to bodyweight. Unfortunately, getting up to a reasonably lean 160-170 lbs could take a long time (think years). However, the good news is that you don't have to pack on 30 lbs to see improvement. At your bodyweight, adding just 10 pounds of muscle could make a dramatic difference both in your appearance and in how much weight you can lift.

You will have to eat a lot too. Try adding around 500 calories to your diet and see what that does for you. Have plaenty of protein throughout the day. Get the whey protein that has lots of carbs in it. That usually helps someone with your body type.

I hear those 5X5 routines are good for thin people. That might be an idea too.

The bottom line is just keep adding weight to the bar and calories to the diet. That should get you growing as fast as you can.

Hahaha, that's such a terrible photoshop picture. Look at the guy's neck. Unless he is Jon Bastow, your neck WILL grow bigger after you pack on 30 pounds.

I say it's a scam.
