Pretty much - but the total of three consecutive long jumps in a row, no pauses.Proper Knob wrote:Peter, would that be a standing long jump test i see?
The best I ever did without falling down shortly afterward was 250 cm (8' 2") but I'm usually closer to 7' when I jump. That was a PR jump during a long-jump heavy phase, so I got a lot of practice . . .Proper Knob wrote:Also, what's your standing long jump record?

I often mention getting folks ready for fights in my log, mentioning who's beating on me as they train for a match.
Here are two of them - my friend Jody-Lynn in fight #8, 10/8/10 and my friend Lee in fight #1, 10/9/10

...and pick the date and fight from the side.
It's worth noting that Jody is going on 48 this year and had to come up to 112 to fight her opponent, who dropped down to 118 to fight her. Both of these guys were in their first MMA matches.
I'm mad proud of both of them. Lee and Jody both beat the tar out of me over and over getting ready for their fights, and both of them represented our school in great fashion in and out of the ring.

Thanks! I don't pull often, so I was surprised as hell at the 30 pound PR. It's not like I've dramatically improved my technique or something. I couldn't even figure out what plates went on to get to 335, I had to ask. Amazing jump in weight. Best part is that I'm only a little sore in the glutes (the medius, mostly) and shoulders, but my back doesn't hurt at all nor do my knees. It was all hip drive, not back flexion.Jungledoc wrote:Peter!! WOW!! Great job on the DLs! BIG PR.
FWIW, my shins are about 2.5 inches away from the bar when I'm standing but touch when I drop down and pull. As to how I'd pull with my shins touching to start - I'd just roll the bar forward as I crouched down, I'd imagine. I don't know that I'd end up in a different place.
