Tricep Reverse Grip

How does reversing the grip change the tricep workout?

Example:
In a 1 hand cable push down you use palms down.
In a 1 hand cable pull down you use palms up.
But its basically the same thing...but it must be different in some way. I saw a ROTC guy do it today.

The triceps press-down with an overhand grip is a staple of any effective triceps-training routine. It mainly develops the medial head of the triceps, which is relatively small in comparison to the lateral and long heads. To target the lateral head, you need to come to grips with the reverse-grip press-down.....
