What are the ideal macronutrient ratios when bulking/cutting

Post by JoeB » Wed Nov 24, 2010 9:35 am

Just wondering wondering what are the optimal ratios for bulking and cutting. Right now I am cutting weight. In May, I weighed in at 231lbs and now I am down to 201lbs. I looked at my ratio last night and I have been doing 50p/35c/15f. I still feel strong and both my dead lifts and lat pull downs are going up, while my bench and shoulder press is staying the same. I have been losing around 1lb/week and would like to get down to around 180lbs and then start bulking again.

Thanks,

Joe

Honestly there aren't any. The problem is that metabolizing carbs varies greatly from person to person. You have to find what works best for you.

With your main goal being to lose weight, don't expect high gains. There are tons of ratios you can use and 50-35-15 isn't bad.
