It's more than likely that you're not lifting hard enough to illicit gains.

What kind of routine are you on currently?

How old are you?
How much do you weigh?
Height?
How long have you trained?

Give us more info.

Are you gaining any weight?
Yes, it's only in your belly
Or
No, and your belly is getting fatter.

?

Are your lifts going up regularly?

If you're trying to gain muscle you may have to put up with a little fat gain. If you're gaining a pot belly, I would suggest that should be your primary focus do the the harmful effects it has on your health. Cut the carbs and increase the fats from animal sources. The pot belly will be the first fat you lose. Never mind the "balanced diet" thing. That's a fallacy. Check your other thread. I gave the same advice then.

That doesn't sound like enough food. Of course this depends on your size.....

Do you have a bigger stomach when you wake up in the morning?

A lot of the time just eating large quantities of food, if you're fairly skinny, can cause your stomach to look like it's getting bigger.

My brother is 6'3" 155lbs (Skinny kid, does parkour though and bikes miles upon miles a day, so in really good shape) but if he eats a huge meal his stomach just sticks out because he's so skinny.

There are quite a bit of lfts you can do without a spotter that you can set up in a progressive fashion.
Meanwhile, dont be fixated on the 6-pack, imo

Significant gains are gonna take a lot longer than a year! I don't find a spotter ever limits me, as long as you have access to a rack you'll be fine. Do you know roughly how much protein you're having a day? I think if you lower your carbs, protein intake will naturally increase due to the foods you will be eating. My protein intake is always at its highest when I'm eating minimal carbs (even if I wasn't actively increasing it)

matt,

Dilusional

I doubt that you are getting a pot belly from your diet. Most likely you are out of touch with reality.

Pec Picture Imbalance

Your pot belly dilemma reminds me of a recent post with pictures of a guy who stated one side was bigger than the other.

Jungledoc and others stated they saw NO differences.

"...I seem to be..."

That statement indicates that you don't know. You are guessing. Guessing means you have NO idea.

wat factors would u say would b most likely causing it? wen i said seem 2 b i ment dat all the weight iv put on looks as tho its all went 2 my belly rather than the rest of my body ders no doubt that because im reasonably thin dat alot of it has 2 do wit the food sitting in my belly altho its not evrything 2 do with it.. for instance wen iv been ill an noteaten properly 4 a couple of days its stilll much de same...thanks kenny.
