Fractured Talus - Lower Body Work

Post by George G » Fri Sep 15, 2006 8:45 am

Hey guys,

I twisted my ankle playing soccer and now have a non-displaced talus (ankle bone) fracture. The doctor put me in a high boot.

My upper body workouts will remain the same, except I will replace standing exercises with seated variations.

For my lower body I would like some suggestins from you. Squatting and deadlifting is out of the question. I would still like to work the healthy limb because I have read the the other limb will still benefit. So what do you think?
Pistols? Single-Leg deadlifts? Single-leg leg press? I am open to suggestions.

Thanks.

You could try leg extensions and leg curls. With these you may be able to train both legs, since the ankle joint isn't involved.

George, all your suggestions are great. Throw in some hypers on a bench and you should be good to go.
