Ratio of Protein / Carb / Fat

Post by KenDowns » Sat Jul 30, 2011 5:03 pm

I searched in prior threads for specific recommendations of protein/carb/fat ratios, but could not find any (or any clearly stated as such). For the first time ever I tried to sit down and work out what mine is, and my best estimate is 45/40/15. This I don't think can be right whether I'm going for Paleo, USRDA, bulking, cutting, or anything else.

What are the various schools of thought here? My goals are general health but more specifically to raise my numbers over time on the major lifts.

Definition and low bodyfat are not the goal or problem respectively. Just that number on the top working set.

As for changes to diet, I'm game. It was a huge change for me to kick the junk food and eat real food around January, but that is done and well in the past and I think it's past time for the next major refinement/improvement in diet.

Thanks.

To me the only school of thought that makes sense is that percentages don't make sense :)
