you cannot make a new post so soon after your last
I understand we have this feature to stop someone coming on and spamming up a million threads in one go, but does anyone else find it really frustrating?
Any chance of a rethink on this policy?

it is kind of nannyish, but I've found the nanny has caused me to read through things more thoroughly before replying, and to be sure of what I say before I reply. Suppose I shouldn't need that, but it works...

I'd spend less if I didn't have to wait so long between postsOscar_Actuary wrote:you all spend way too much time on here.

But if you'd spend more time writing each one, the time would be up by the time you are ready to hid "submit"!
Humph! I just got the "You cannot make another post so soon after your last."
Well, try again.

I dropped it down from 2 minutes to a minute and half. That's as low as it's going.

As I recall, IM had to spend many, many hours cleaning up after the bad, bad spammer. I also find the delay to be annoying, and wish that it could be shorter for me, but not for the rest of you spammers. All in all, I don't mind. It prevents me from posting a few short, irrelevant posts, believe it or not.

The proof is in the pudding. Our board is pretty dense with quality discussion and incredibly spam free. Somehow that 2 minute rule (now 90 seconds) is contributing. Might seem annoying, but it works. Like I said above, it is a bit "nannyish", but you can't argue with success. Sometimes we all need to be reminded to mind our manners and be slow to speak.Jungledoc wrote:As I recall, IM had to spend many, many hours cleaning up after the bad, bad spammer. yeah I see the reasons why it's there, and I very much appreciate that it was a nightmare for you to clean up all those threads last time Ironman (thanks for that by they way!)

Hello Pot, meet Kettle.
Pot: "you appear to be black."
Kettle: " ...."
Pot: "I'm just sayin..."

I think we get Oscar's self-referential sarcasm.

For him, I type slowly.
