Exercise and Productivity

IceDane said something in his log about not having the time to workout and it reminded me of advice I gave my son, that working out on a regular basis will improve his productivity. I know Richard Branson claims that a workout can add 4 productive hours to your day. He may be exagerating a little but you get the point. It turns out that that is true only when it reduces stress.

A simple Google search will find all kinds of examples of studies that support the concept of exercise supporting productivity, I thought this one interesting because it showed the opposite can also happen. I guess the bottom line is to do the type of exercise that you enjoy and do it because you enjoy it.

i find if I've got work to do for uni, a workout beforehand improves my concentration loads. So from my personal experience, I would definitely agree

Definitely will attest to this. In the past, my best semesters in school were when I was exercising regularly...and after getting back into it now, my productivity around the house and work is really noticeable, and that's even without adding cardio yet!

Wow! Haha. I had no idea anyone ever looked at my log.

But yeah.. back in the day, I was so tired after doing practically nothing. Just school for 6-8 hours meant I had to take a nap. Working out has blasted my energy levels to unknown heights.
