I can't tell if this is a joke or not. I really hope it is. If it's not, does that mean you take baby wipes with you everywhere in case nature calls?xshawnxearthx wrote:I like to be clean after I take a dump. It's the closest thing to taking a shower afterwards.

Re: what do you take to the gym?
shawn's weird hygiene habits aside, it seems we all take pretty much the same thing. Resistance bands and implements for soft tissue work are the most popular.
I expected more love for fat gripz. Does no one else have a pair? If not, I very much recommend getting a set. My elbow and wrist issues have pretty much disappeared ever since I started using them.

Before going I record what I want to dorobertscott wrote:And Oscar, that picture was hilarious, but why do you take a voice memo recorder?
When I'm done, I record what I did along with any special notes, like "light High Pulls work great for Deadlift warm up"
Find it easier than writing it down
Plus wife bought it for me, so I score points using it.

It's my instrument for soft tissue work. ;-)robertscott wrote:I can't tell if this is a joke or not. I really hope it is. No, I don't take them everywhere. My bathroom, my gym bag, and my desk at work.

I-Pod
Water bottle
Chalk
Couple of bands
Knee sleeves if it's lower body work
Tennis ball
Piece of paper with all my weights written down for that cycle.

What if the Hokey Cokey really IS what it's all about?
Re: what do you take to the gym?
Since I go to school, I have a big bag with a bunch of stuff, but the stuff I use at the gym:
Workout clothes("sport trousers" + t-shirt)
Bottle for water(I normally drink half a gallon during workouts)
Sometimes my shaker(depends if I'm doing pre-workout supplements)
Straps, which I only use for my heaviest deadlifts and rackpulls. I didn't before, but the bars at the new gym give me gnarly callouses.
Toiletries
Underpants + socks to change

Re: what do you take to the gym?
I have a lot of things in my car (which I take to the gym) and put them in my bag if or when I need them.
Typically i'll take:
PVC Pipe, hockey ball, tennis ball, and "peanut" (2 tennis balls taped together)
Resistance bands (ironwoody, skinny, medium, fat)
Chalk
Dipping Belt
About 300 training programs (i'm kinda messy and my bag overflows with printouts some times)
PT uniform
Training stuff (clothes)
Towel (always have 2 towels in my car)
Straps
notepad and pen
Measuring tape
Converse or similar to wear when training (I go through these very quickly)
Supplements
I think that's it....
I don't have fat gripz but, one of my training partners do so I don't need to buy them.

Log
water bottle
small towel (I sweat, a lot)
shorts
shirt
socks
shoes (New Balance minimus)
straps (for when my grip gives out)
wrist wraps (for bench press 350 and up)
gloves (for high rep bench press or db press, for some reason makes my hands feel like someone is pushing nails through them)
dip belt
athletic tape (torn calluses)
Gym has chalk and foam roller, or I would take these too.

Re: what do you take to the gym?
Water bottle is the only thing I take, and being a n00b means I have no idea why people take tennis balls!?
Re: what do you take to the gym?
I come straight from work, so packing the bag in the morning is a daily ritual, I always feel like I've forgotten something.
Large towel
Small towel
Belt
Shorts
Workout top
Shoes
Socks
Shaker
Bottle
Phone
Logbook+Pen (new addition)
Combination Lock
& Hoodie for the ride home after cold shower.
PS- Harrison, tennis balls and foam rollers are for soft tissue work. Just google tennis ball soft tissue, you'll get the idea.

You'll never walk alone, safe in the wide open arms of hell.

Phones, Headphones, that's it :P
Re: what do you take to the gym?
The usual stuff like a bottle and a towel, plus a pair of earplugs. The high volume music is driving me crazy.
