What comes first?(not a chicken/egg post)

Post by xshawnxearthx » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:31 pm

As I'm stalling in a few exercises after 8 weeks of a 5x5, I think it's time for a deload but I also want to test my maxes. Would it be better to deload and then text maxes, or text maxes and then deload?

Powerlifters usually train hard in the weeks leading up to a meet and then take a week or so off before the big day. Maybe you should try that, then deload/reset.

I always thought of deloading for a week as "taking a week off".
