Fitness chess set

Post by hoosegow » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:44 am

If you were to design a fitness chess set, what would you make each piece and why?

Pawn:
Rook:
Knight:
Bishop:
Queen:
King:

Yah, I know. It is a stupid random question.
Thanks TimD.

That's a good question. I wish I could think of an answer. I'll have to think about it for a while.

Pawn: Curls/Extensions (isolation work of any kind really)
rook: Rows
Knight: Press
Bishop: Pull ups
Queen: Bench
King: Squat

I do it in order of how awesome I think the exercises are. I like Matt's idea about the barbell being king though

This isn't going exactly in the direction I was thinking, but I like it. I may have to change direction...

Here was mine
Pawn - Crossfit: they are okay at a lot of things and their zealous mentality is excellent for getting them sacrificed for the greater good.
Rook - Endurance sports athletes: they can cover a long distance in a straight line
Knight - MMA guys: just seems natural
Bishop - body builders: I don't know what else to put here
Queen - Olympic lifters: the strongest most powerful and useful piece should have the most powerful group of guys
King - Powerlifters: We are big, slow and quite useless and need a lot of help.
Thanks TimD.

Bishops might be pairs figure skaters.
They work better together

I see Pawns being the multitude than signs up for step aerobic classes on Jan 1 and by mid game, they disperse.

Kings are the couch potato executives. They are vulnerable but important

I tried.

And if chess had a piece that was more powerful than the queen, stronger than the pawns, smarter than the knights and rooks, and better looking than the king, it would be a strongman competitor.

There is a piece like that it is called:

THE MIGHTY HAMMER OF GOD!!!!!!!

It is when you slam your fist onto the chest set.
