Pain in calves after running

Post by Stefan 93 » Tue Jul 17, 2012 10:55 am

Hi guys, I have a very big problem right now so I must ask you for advice...
I haven't run for a year, but I was doing exercises with light weights for that time (50kg). Before three days I run 12 minutes and (after sitting down for a while) 8 minutes more.
I started running on toes. I found nice flat shoes so I don't have to hold my foot in very big angle. While I was running I haven't felt any pain at all. I used a technique that is described in book: "Pose Method of Running".
Now I can't walk normally. I don't feel any pain when I'm sitting and not using my legs. But when I start walking and try to push off my legs with calves I feel pain. So I must walk like an elephant without using my ankles.
What do you think I should do? Is there any chance it will go away?
Going to the doctor would make a big problem now because my parents are going to the seaside in a couple of days and I don't want to ruin their holiday.
I apologize to everyone I've enraged. I'll try to correct myself.

No, it's in the upper back part.

it is likely your walking will go back to normal over some days as your calves recover from your first run in a year. you also used a very calve intensive running technique. keep walking like an elephant. when walking is only slightly uncomfortable go for another run. don't go through this for no benefit. it only gets easier.

yeah, it's standard muscle soreness cause you didnt go running for such a long time. i would also wait until the pain is manageable and then continue running.

Thanks dudes! I always had soreness in my calves, but never like this. Back when I was young I could run for 45 minutes with nice speed, so I thought that this wouldn't be a problem...
