Well I have to pull my bench forward, place two barbell holder pegs into the uppermost uprights. I use the safety stands in case I fail. I walk in from the back of the bench, but it is midway between a regular squat and a bottom squat. As you can imagine this is tedious, so I don't like to squat for that reason as it takes too much time to set up. I must admit that I tend to lean towards my vertical leg press and couple that with leg extentions and hamstring curls. Not pictured in my gym is the Rack dip station and my P90x doorway pullup bar. These tools have helped create a gym in such a limited space.ephs wrote:looks fine, but where do you squat?leanmuscle13 wrote:Ok here we go! I hope these work!

ok, now i got why the stronglifts 5x5 program takes so much time for you. maybe you could buy a squat rack, you can change the height very fast and use it for all kinds of exercises, but it has nothing for safety in case of a fail.leanmuscle13 wrote:Well I have to pull my bench forward, place two barbell holder pegs into the uppermost uprights. Well a squat rack is out of the question. The equipment that I have I've gotten over the years much to my spouse's displeasure. At this point I don't want to push the issue as she would kill me! So I'm making the best out of what I have. Now maybe when we get another house I can consider upgrading, but for now it will have to do. Being that she's not into weight lifting like that she doesn't understand the difference between a squat and a leg press. She thinks they are the same.

Sir,
I think you have to many contrpations for the space.
And maybe not the best arrangement.
So, how does that help you now.
I'm not sure, except maybe you could sell or donate soem of that, and put towards a used powerrack from Craigs List or Ebay, etc.
Meanwhile, you perhaps could Front Squat to minimize the risks of crashing down with weight on your back.
Step Ups or Lunges + Deadlifts can take care of you as well, imo.
At least for awhile

Well I do admit that the pics make it look really crowded, but please know that the bench does fold up. So it's not a heavy duty bench, but when folded up allows space for me to deadlift. Also the rack folds up and fits neatly behind the pic of the weight plates. Now front squats and hack squats are a great idea so I may give it a try. But again agree for the space that I have I'm maxed out in equipment, but I won't allow that to stop me from training! For now I just have to train smart.Oscar_Actuary wrote:Sir,

If you have re-order it in order to get it all done in a reasonable time, I say go ahead and re-order it. I do that with clients all the time. Say I want them to push the Prowler but someone else is using it, I'll have them do something else now and that later. In the long run, I don't think changing the order is going to make much difference.
