could you estimate how many % of the words are equal?

funny story with the american repeating the sentence again and again .

i know a guy who married a german woman, but he doesn't give a fv(k, if you understand him or not, he keeps on speaking his pensylvania american english all the time. sometimes it's a bit hard to understand, cause he speaks very fast and inarticulate.

In the past (30 years ago when people were still writing books on the subject) they said that about 50% of the vocabulary was derived from English. The rest are a mix of a couple of tribal languages, German, Dutch, Portugese, Maylay, and some others. I believe that there are abbreviations for 13 languages. In recent years many English words, particularly for technological terms have been adopted and "pidginized". For example, the Pidgin word for computer is "komputa". Or "kompiuta". There is no standardization of spelling.

Your map is interesting. In 2004, we were hit with 35" and we set the record as the largest city in the world ever to have that much snow in one day. On your map Milford got 38". If you consider Milford is part of Greater New Haven, then New Haven now has the record.
